IP Security Cameras
The internet has virtually changed the way most security systems work including micro surveillance equipments. It gives an advantage of allowing simultaneous usage in multiple areas with easy monitoring. What exactly are IP Security Cameras? With the increased applications of video surveillance, it has enlarged the service areas of IP related solutions. The benefits are many folds too. There are different kinds of IP video cameras and each provides different way of safety. Different service providers and makers can combine various solutions. Sometimes it so happens that one manufacturer is unable to give a large number of cameras (supply usually needed for a large important event, like Republic day Parade, Presidential address etc). How is it possible for one to connect to various makers at once without a problem? Herein lies the IP solution. It facilitates in the following way-It gives digital images in compact format like Jpeg, MMS pictures, MJpeg format, cameras like Panasonic, PIXORD, Star dot cameras etc.
An IP Security camera gives images in digital format and can be plugged to an Ethernet switch, which can be accessed over an IP network. The IP camera has a computer board run on embedded Linux. It easily converts an analogue image to a compressed digiimage. Some cameras have microprocessors. Any image can be transmitted via IP gateway through a web server. It provides a camera configuration for HTTP protocol also. The video servers are quite advanced and may not come with cameras. They have video input connectors. Anyone can plug an analogue camera to the connectors. The IP cameras and servers can be accessed over the network. You can monitor from the actual placement of the cameras and form connections from any where in the world. This can be done through special video surveillance equipment (actually web browsers). It works as well from PDAs and mobile phones too. Some of the best uses of these cameras are for traffic control police who can detect, track and capture images of speeding vehicles. Now that is some advancement.
